New retail and dining destination to transform a prominent gateway along Fairbanks Avenue
WINTER PARK, FL — September 2026 — A new chapter is about to begin along one of Winter Park’s most
visible corridors as Fairbanks Crossing prepares to break ground at the intersection of Fairbanks Avenue and
Denning Drive.
The new development will transform the former Orlando RV property at 860 W. Fairbanks Avenue into a
thoughtfully designed retail and dining destination featuring approximately 29,760 square feet of new commercial
space across four one-story buildings. The project received approval from the City of Winter Park in May 2026,
marking a significant step forward for the redevelopment of the site.
RLH Construction has been selected as the General Contractor for Fairbanks Crossing and is preparing to
move the project into the construction phase.
A New Destination for Fairbanks Avenue
Fairbanks Crossing is designed to create a more inviting and pedestrian-oriented presence along the Fairbanks
Avenue corridor, bringing together retail, restaurants and outdoor spaces in a development that is intended to
complement the character of Winter Park.
The project will feature four new one-story commercial buildings, with a mix of retail and restaurant uses. Plans
also incorporate outdoor dining areas, enhanced landscaping and streetscape improvements intended to create a
more walkable environment.
The development is part of the continued evolution of the Fairbanks Avenue corridor, an area experiencing
significant investment and redevelopment. The approved plans include improvements addressing access,
circulation and the pedestrian experience surrounding the project.
Building on the Character of Winter Park
Fairbanks Crossing is being designed with its location in mind. Situated just west of Winter Park’s established
downtown district, the development will serve as an important transition between the city’s established
neighborhoods and its western commercial corridor.
Rather than simply adding another commercial center, Fairbanks Crossing is intended to create a destination that
encourages people to shop, dine and spend time within the development.
The project’s design incorporates pedestrian-friendly elements, including enhanced sidewalks, landscaping and
outdoor gathering areas. Earlier project descriptions also emphasized creating a streetscape that extends the
walkable character associated with Winter Park beyond the traditional Park Avenue district.

community.”
Looking Ahead

With groundbreaking approaching, construction activity will soon begin transforming the property and creating a
new commercial destination along Fairbanks Avenue.
Fairbanks Crossing represents more than the redevelopment of a prominent piece of property. It is part of the
continued evolution of one of Central Florida’s most recognizable communities—bringing new retail, dining and
gathering opportunities to an important Winter Park corridor.
RLH Construction is proud to serve as the General Contractor for Fairbanks Crossing and looks forward to
watching this new destination take shape.
